Meternal Newborn Child Health
According to Kenya National Survey on People with disability (KNSPWD, 2008) indicates that one third of PWD in Nairobi have difficulty accessing health information/services. About 47.1% of females with disabilities have had problem accessing health services.
MNCH is a project that aims at empowering civil society, government institutions and partners for the evolution of disability friendly mother and child health services through:
• Enhancing policy-maker and health care providers understanding and communication skills related to MNCH services for people with disabilities.
• Strengthening capacities of formal and informal health system to reduce child and maternal mortality and disability.
• Improve the nutritional status of mothers and children less than 5 years of age.
• Increase access and uptake of family planning services
This project mainly focuses on women with disabilities and their families. By ensuring they access Ante Natal Clinic and Post Natal clinic. Here they will learn maternal knowledge on breastfeeding, nutrition and family planning
